Staying positive in uncertain times

As you will know, over the last year the world has taken a very unexpected twist. We are all living with uncertainty as to what’s going to happen next.

Although it is hard, try to view the situation with a positive outlook. Instead of thinking of the negative consequences, look for the positive ones and remember that there’s an end in sight!

Here are some tips on how to stay positive during these times:

Stay informed: It is important to keep in touch with everything that is going on at the moment, but make sure to take breaks off of the news and media. Sometimes your mind can focus on this too much and cause you worry and fear, stay on top but don’t let it get on top!

Connect with someone everyday: Perhaps one of the toughest things about lockdown for many of us is not being able to see family or friends. This can be bad for our mental health so it’s important that we try to stay connected even if we physically can’t see people, as it is good for our wellbeing. A call or video chat with somebody you love is a sure way to boost your mood.

Work out: Exercising has many benefits for physical and mental health, and staying fit and healthy during these stressful times can lead to a happier mindset. It doesn’t have to be strenuous, just enough to raise your heart rate and give you a kick start to the day.

Keep up with your normal tasks: During these uncertain times it can be easy to forget about your everyday tasks. It is important to keep eating at your usual times, sleeping and exercising regularly. By doing this everyday it will make you feel a sense of accomplishment.

We hope these tips help and remember… you are not alone and we will all get through this together.
