Thinking about going Self-Employed?

Are you contemplating starting your own business? Are you wondering if the advantages of self-employment are worth the hard work that goes into it?

When people start their own business they will always have doubts, but most of the time they are just nervous about taking that risk. Here are some of the benefits that might give you the confidence to take that step and push yourself out of your comfort zone.

You’re your own boss (allows flexibility): One of the main reasons people tend to go freelance and leave businesses is because they seek flexibility. When you decide to become your own boss you can set your own working hours and choose when you’re going to have time off. It also means you can control how your work is done and do not have anyone above you telling you to do tasks in certain ways, you can work with no pressure to the best of your abilities.

You spend less: You’ll be saving money on travel. Even if you are working outside of your home, you can limit the distance you are happy to travel.

You set your own schedule: Whether you enjoy working by a fixed schedule or like to mix it up with hours that are more flexible… you can choose when you want to work! Being self-employed gives you the freedom to decide when and where you will work. For example, if you have children you might start your work after you’ve dropped them to school and then finish your workday when they arrive home.

Work from home: Working from home means you will not have to worry about being late or getting stuck in traffic on your commute to work every day. Self-employment offers you the flexibility and comfort of being able to manage your work and personal life such as taking care of family needs.

You choose your own customers:

This is an important aspect of being self-employed, as you will want to choose the best customers or clients for you. This means you can work with clients that suit your preferences and working style. Working with different clients you will have the opportunity to work on a number of projects, develop new skills and gain experience.

Career development and opportunities: As you are your own boss you can choose when you want to learn something new or if you want to go on a certain course, this means you do not have to wait for anyone’s approval and can explore any new skills when you think is best.

Don’t forget… being self-employed requires a lot of hard work and dedication. There are many benefits of this although you need to have the right mindset to make sure you succeed!
